Oh it's a long, long time, from May to December,
But the days grow shorter,
When you reach September...
When the autumn weather
Turns the leaves to flame
One hasn't got time
For the waiting game...

(Kurt Weill/Maxwell Anderson)

So goes that evocative song and September seems to me to be a wistful time of year - the promise of spring and ripeness of summer giving way to autumnal serenity.

Looking back, this summer has been a time of unusually warm days, long sunlit evenings, and we've enjoyed picnics in the park, barbecues in backyards and strolls along our beaches. Some of you may have been away on holiday trips and perhaps celebrated special events like birthdays and anniversaries. Do share your pictures with us!

I've posted a few new items on our website so when you have a few minutes, drop by. Keep an eye out for get together lunches, or perhaps a pot-luck party at Chelsea Gardens. Also, take a look at the concerts by Cheek to Cheek that are scheduled for the next few months - Gail has a fantastic voice and their performances rock (literally!) The Remembrance Day show is usually a sell out so be sure to book early.

It would be great to hear from you, so please share your news, ideas, stories and adventures.

Cheers,

Margaret
